Food insecurity among older adults is a quiet crisis, and Volusia County is no exception. The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) provides free monthly food packages to low-income seniors aged 60 and over.

What Is CSFP?

A federal nutrition program funded by the USDA. In Florida, it's managed by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in partnership with local food banks.

What Is in a CSFP Food Box?

Each monthly box contains approximately 30-40 pounds of food:

  • Proteins: Canned chicken or tuna, beans, peanut butter
  • Dairy: Shelf-stable milk, cheese, sometimes butter
  • Grains: Cereal, rice, pasta, oatmeal
  • Fruits and vegetables: Canned fruits (in juice), canned vegetables, dried potatoes, tomato sauce
  • Juice: 100% fruit juice

Age: 60 or older

Income: At or below 130% of the Federal Poverty Level
